Fishing on Big Bald Lake at Catalina Bay Resort

The Kawartha Lakes are famous for its fishing, from the elusive Pickerel to the sporty Bass family to the mighty Muskie down to
the pretty Sunfish, which you can hand feed in the summer from
our deck at Crocodile Bills.

And for our European friends we have some very large and abundant Common Carp which average 25lbs. Some have been caught often up to 38lbs.

Fishing is a great sport around Catalina Bay Resort.

This is the location to catch that big one you have always been dreaming about. Muskie, Large and Smallmouth Bass, Pickerel
( Walleye ), Carp and Panfish are all available in Big Bald Lake.

Whether you are an experienced angler or new to the sport, you
are sure to have fun.

Fishing season opens in 2005 as follows:

  • Common Carp (April 30)
  • Pan Fish including Perch (April 30)
  • Trout (April 30)
  • Pickerel (May 14)
  • Muskie (June 5)
  • Large & Smallmouth Bass (June 25)
